Reasonable fees at Sarawak Rainforest World Music Festival

KUCHING: Revellers at the Rainforest World Music Festival 2012 are satisfied with the entrance ticket charges for the three day festival.

John Read, 66, from Australia said that the ticket which costs RM110 is equivalent to Aus$35   which is cheap and reasonable.

“I sailed to Langkawi and to Santubong here just to attend this festival,” said Read who came with his wife for the first time to Sarawak.

He said attending the first night of the concert was not enough to satisfy his musical and festival cravings prompting him and his wife to also attend the last day of the festival yesterday.

On his personal favourite band, Read chose the String Sisters adding that their music is unique due to the composition of multinational fiddle players in the band.

Meanwhile, Mazlina Shariff, 32 still has fond memories of the mud pit featured in the festival’s 2010 edition.

“I wonder when can we play and dance in the mud together again in view of our age,” said Mazlina who this time came with friends, Adriya Dzulkernain and Azlina Abdul Samad.
